I've tried Pirate Captain a few times before these replays and I wasn't able to get good results. It's even worse when there's Earthquake Rule Sets__.

Cost to buy/rent this card. How affordable and accessible is the card.
Card Stats. How balanced the card is based on its role.
Card Effect. How useful is its effect based on the role of the card.
Strengths and Weaknesses. If the card can counter other cards and/or be countered easily by others or not.
Positioning. Adaptability of where the card can be placed.
Compatibility. How useful it is on its current element.

Rental/Buy Cost ||

The card is available for use and do not need for any rental or purchase.

Below is the rental and buy cost of the card at the time of this writing.

It has a decent purchase and/or rental cost however buying or renting one at level 1 is not required as the card is available to play upon purchasing the spellbook. Upgrading the card to level 2 is a different scenario though.

Card Stats ||

Mana: 3
Damage: 1
Speed: 2
Health: 3

It has a bad stats for level 1. I've tried it and it's atrocious. The little league is probably the best rule set for this card but the low damage is still apparent. ════════════════════════════════

Card Effect ||

Snipe: Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position
Snipe is good but for a card that has low damage and low speed, it is really really REALLY BAD. Even using Pirate Captain in a little league match is actually bad. The only advantage I can think of to use this card is using the alpha edition, gold foil which will provide 20% bonus dec per win or leveling it up to level 2. However, since I only have level 1 summoner, I was not able to try the level 2 if it would be decent.

Strengths Weaknesses ||

|| The main strength would be the health. Snipe ability is good but due to low damage and speed, it is not worth to use it as a sniper. 3 health would be good to act as a soft back tank placed on the last position to drain damage from sneaks.

|| The main weakness would be the damage and speed. Speed 2 is decent but since it is a sniper card, it requires higher speed to act first before everyone else. Low damage is also a demerit as snipers should hit fast and hit hard. ════════════════════════════════

Positioning ||

The best position for this card is the 7th position. As stated, if I would use this card, it would probably be as a back tank for sneaks. Sneak cards normally has 1 damage so this card would work well for that purpose. If you're able to level up this card to 2, place this card in the middle and protect it as 2 damage is really good for a sniper and should pay well throughout the game.

Compatibility ||

My main build right now is light snipers and water snipers would probably be good if leveled up but at level 1, the build is really weak and is not recommended.

Final Thoughts

With all the evidences that we gathered, we could say that Pirate Captain is actually bad at early levels but quite decent when upgraded to level 2.

All in all, I would give it...

at level 1 and...

at level 2.
