Yes, the potential for it to actually be a really fun and challenging game is there for sure. It just rarely comes out. Building a card collection and learning how to play was quite fun, right now it all just feels like a pay2win grind for some rewards most days which is quite sad.
Yeah it feels that way sometimes, still.. I'm making progress although it sometimes feels slow. That's also why I like using the reports, it shows the hard numbers even if you feel different about it at times.
Overall things continue to be good for Splinterlands
Except for the run of accounts with their emails compromised. Hopefully it's just related to a database leak from someone like Facebook and not a Splinterlands issue directly.
I'm not sure, I only have Level 5 Summoners so the top-ranked players have a clear edge over me when it comes down to average card power. Also when you win a match near the top of the rankings you earn 3 rank points while you most of the time lose 30+ in case you lose a match especially against players who are ranked below you. I also don't play 100% optimal since I often bend my deck around the daily quest. I have been thinking about doing one season playing my A-game each time while playing 30+ matches a day. Maybe I'll do that in season 49
It's interesting to hear about that dynamic. Somehow the game play in the Champions division is quite different: I tend to get a lot of players with scores close to me, so having a positive win ratio to begin with already helps me a long way towards getting into the Top 50.
I guess the number of competitors in lower divisions at the very top may be smaller, but it might take many more matches to actually make it that high up?
Am with you with on the skill part, although when it does play a role and you beat a higher leveled team it does feel good. Good progress!

I must say: your win/loss ratio is downright impressive! Surely you could make it into the Top 10 if you just played a few more games?
