Right now it’s 16 hours away from season end. I’m going for the Bronze I reward. I currently have no cards rented and my power is at 5.
I need to rent a strong deck that will carry me. Although I’m still inexperienced with the game if I have a really powerful deck I’m sure my win rate will skyrocket. After all, I’m still in Bronze. Bronze can’t be that hard, right?
So the important question is, “what cards do I rent?” The first thing I did was google and search on youtube. Unfortunately, the videos and articles I’m able to find are at least a month old, didn’t have enough information, or was outdated since Chaos Legion cards came out since then.
I have to go with Plan B, which is to do my own research. I went to my Deck page, changed the view to all cards, and went over every single card in the game, one splinter at a time. It took a while but I was able to get a better understanding of what each splinter is about and what my options are.
For Neutral splinter, there weren’t any key cards that needed to be rented other than Furious Chicken and Ooze. Those cards are more of a support than the main package so I still needed to find my key cards. The same can be said of the Dragon splinter. The splinter seems like one to add to and complement another splinter. This makes sense since you can choose another splinter to use with Dragon. I didn’t see anything there that stood out so I’ll cross it out as well. I’m still in Bronze. I just need something effective and simple. Dragon might be too complex for now.
That just left me with the five remaining main splinters in the game. Fire, Water, Earth, Life, and Death. These Splinters have the most card at 70+ per splinter. Whichever I choose I’m certain that I’m getting a full-powered Splinter behind me. Rather than renting multiple splinter decks, I’ll just focus on one strong splinter for now. Hopefully, the rules allow me to use the splinter more times than not.
I quickly went over Death and Life. While I found their unique characteristics I can’t see anything simple to use. I also heard that it’s easier to stick with fire, water, and earth for now since they’re simpler. After that, I checked the rest of the splinters.
It’s probably going to be either a Water or Earth deck that I will rent. I feel that these two splinters are strong.
The only inexpensive summoner that I see being worth the rent is Mylor for Earth. Aside from that, I don’t know what Earth cards to rent even though I went over them all already. No summoner for Water, but aside from Torhilo, Axemaster, and Kelp Initiate I also don’t know of what monsters to rent.
Maybe I’ll just rent what I rented before and fill in the rest for CP.
A few hours later I’m refreshed and ready to rent, but I can’t because the game is in maintenance. I stumbled across a new youtube video guiding new players to Silver 3 with just three Earth cards. I think I can also get to Silver with these cards if I grind enough matches.
As I wait for the maintenance to end I’m anticipating my climb to Silver. It seems like breaking through Bronze to Silver is going to be a game-changer. There is more reward box and I get significantly more DEC. Since today is the last day of the season renting is going to be very expensive, but I have to bite the bullet and do it. I think I will be able to make enough DEC to cover the cost. Right now I lost 20 DEC from my first rental period.
I’m feeling lucky today. I got a rare card from my daily chest. My first card in a week of playing. Hopefully, there will be more when I’m in Silver.
