That sounds incredibly annoying. I'm sorry you've been going through that. It seems like people would have better things to do than make crank phone calls.
It also makes more sense why I got a call from a woman the other day saying she was calling me back. She had gotten a call from my number, but I hadn't called anyone during that period of time, so I didn't know what she was talking about. Now it makes more sense. Hopefully no one was using my phone number for nefarious purposes.
