Hey folks. Here they are, after a decent little wait and post turkey season i have received my turkey decoys. Now am i frusterated about it? Yes i am. but im stoked about them because they are so realistic. The "Jake" is the big one. A "Jake" is a male Turkey that has not yet fully matured. The other is called a "Hen" which is a mature female turkey. Now you might wonder why i would use a Jake and a Hen VS a mature male called a "Tom". The answer is Simple. When the "Tom" comes out of the woods into the clearing and sees what he thinks is a Hen that has been calling to him. Now the only thing he has to consider is if she has a tom already mated to her or also arriving due to the mating call i have been doing for however long it takes off and on. The Tom see's a Jake and Knows he is no match because he is still basically a teenager VS a grown man. The tom comes storming toward the Jake and is distracted from the movements i might be making to set up my shot. Now Turkey have extremely good vision, like Eagle vision and the see 170 degrees with out turning there head from center. They also see in vivid color. If you plan to go then buy a ghillie suit because unless you look like the bush and leafs you cant even get close enough to make a shot with a compound bow. Thats all i hunt with because now days they had out felony's for having fun in collage. here is some pictures of my decoys.
