Paul Pierce To Retire As A Celtic!

in #sports7 years ago (edited)

Paul Pierce, 'The Truth', a New England Legend and one of the all-time best Celtics officially will be retiring A Celtic! He's finally back where he belongs, in this humble New Englander's opinion. He retired last year after 15 seasons with the Celtics and a few seasons floating around, ending in the Clippers (they loved him so much that during his last game as a Clipper, while facing the Celtics, the crowd went into an uproar of cheers when he drained a 3 as his last shot as an NBA player!), but the public outcry from Boston fans won the day in the end! The Celtics tweeted that The Truth was back Monday, hinting that they would be signing him for a contract to let this legend end where he was supposed to all along. An official announcement confirmed this later.

New England and Celtics fans worldwide are glad to see the Hall of Fame career of Pierce end in Boston. He has been a champion on and off the court since day one and the organization was happy that he chose to come back to end his career officially as a Celtic. Pierce stated “It’s an honor to have this opportunity to once again call myself a Boston Celtic; the organization and city took me in and made me one of their own, and I couldn’t imagine ending my career any other way. I’m a Celtic for life.”

Welcome home Paul!
Eternally thankful for agreeing on going to Brooklyn...

Pierce was always a very fun guy to watch. Just had that old school physical and nasty attitude that competed no matter what.

Agreed! Definitely a gritty warrior at times!

As an LA fan, I cant say I loved the guy, mostly because of the team he was on, but much respect; he did it right.

Completely understandable, Celtics/Lakers being the greatest rivalry of all time! :)

One of the clutchest players to play the game! Sad to see him go but happy he had a great career!

Definitely! One of my favs of all time for sure!

super clutch, smooth operator - he had an old man's game early on. mean spin move.

well player
