Rockets Fall Behind Again

in #sports6 years ago

Golden State hosts Game 4 tomorrow night and Houston must win to avoid facing elimination games the rest of the way. The Warriors beat the Rockets by a whopping 126-85 in last night's Game 3 victory. Golden State leads the series 2-1.

Houston had a poor offensive performance in Game 3, scoring 42 points less than in Game 2. The Rockets only shot 40% from the field in Game 3, much lower than their 51% performance in Game 2. Harden was the only Rocket with more than 13 points in Game 3, while 5 Rockets had more than 15 points in Game 2.

The Rockets must shake off this poor shooting night and return to their winning ways in Game 4 to level the series.

Game 4 is tomorrow night at 6 pm on TNT.

Game 4 is a must win for Houston. Lebron is the only man on the planet who can come back from 3-1 down to beat these Warriors. The Rockets are a great team but this would still prove a tremendous task. That's why Houston must steal Game 4 and tie this series.

I was just reading an article on ESPN talking about Mike D'Antoni's coaching and, in particular, this year's use of isolation plays.

He felt that they were holding too deep into the shotclock in game 3 and that impacted iso efficiency (Harden and Paul were #1 and #2 in the regular season).

Could this (indecision?) be caused by the intimidation from playing the Warriors in the playoffs? Or maybe just that this is Harden and Paul's first year together so they haven't played deep playoff basketball together before? Maybe a bit of both?

Either way, I concur with @themightyvolcano that this is a must win game for the Rockets.

Facing the experience of the Warriors certainly can be intimidating. Not only have Paul and Harden never gone this deep in the playoffs together, Paul has never been this far in the playoffs ever! It was great to see them get it together tonight and combine for 56 points, one more than Durant and Curry combined for.

Great game indeed - looking forward to the rest of the series!
