LA Chargers and This Upcoming Season

in #sports6 years ago

The LA Chargers recently played there first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals this past Saturday losign 17-24.

Despite the loss, I saw a lot of great plays from new guys on the LA squad and I'm very optimistic about their chances this year to not only make the playoffs out of their division but to also go deep into the playoffs as well. Here's why...

No doubt that Phillip Rivers is in what some would say his prime football years right now. With him and Head Coach Anthony Lynn connected on the same page for their second season together they will be leading this squad in the best way possible for what I believe the best season the Chargers are ever going to have. In the backfield behind rivers is the star running back Melvin Gordon who is great condition and agiler than ever. As for Rivers' targets, he has threats all over the field in Top 5 WR Keenan Allen, with upcoming receivers Mike Williams and newcomer Geremey Davis with a huge grab in the preseason game for a TD.

The defensive end looks solid especially with our corners in Desmond King, Casey Hayward, and Trevor Williams. Not to mention our outstanding rushers with Joey Big Bear and Melvin Ingram. Isaac Rochell will be more developed this year as well.

For their record, I predict a few losses but a solid 12-4 season with playoffs bringing out our best games. If we stay healthy and do our jobs we will go far into the playoffs.

The only area for improvement is our special team's squad which will be interesting to see how we improve that over the preseason.

The Chargers play again on Saturday against the Seahawks which will be a great chance to see the improvement out of backup QBs Cardale Jones and Geno Smith.
