The idea of the FIFA World Cup was brought back to the first FIFA meeting in Paris in 1904 in the presence of seven countries - Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, France, Holland, Spain and Sweden - where the federation adopted the idea of a world football championship. A long time to agree.

Uruguay 1930
Final: 30 July 1930 at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo

Uruguay, the hosts and neighbors Argentina, competed in the final to beat Uruguay 4-2 after a 2-1 lead in the first half.

Italy 1934

Uruguay refused to participate after feeling that the Europeans had chosen not to participate in its 1930 championship.

France 1938

Italy traveled to France and won the World Cup again, but politics and the looming war loomed, leading a number of major nations to not participate.
Austria qualified but withdrew, although a number of their players represented Germany while Spain was absent because of the civil war.
Argentina and Uruguay were also absent. Brazil and Poland made one of the best matches of all time in Strasbourg and ended Brazil 6-5 with extra time thanks to four goals scored by Brazilian Leonidas, who for some time played barefoot.
In the final, Italy retained the title by beating Hungary 4-2.
Brazil 1950
Final: 16 July 1950 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro
After the end of the Second World War (during which FIFA president Jules Remy and the co-founder recovered the trophy from Italy and kept it under his bed) the World Cup returned and Uruguay won the title for the second time in the final.
Earlier, the United States beat England 1-0 at Belo Horizonte in one of the biggest surprises in football, and Sweden fans beat the Italian team, which was still wobbling after the Supra plane crash that ousted Italy's Torino in the previous year.
A mini-league system has been put in place to determine the hero and Italy, Brazil, Sweden, Spain and Uruguay have remained competitive in the final stage.
Brazil needed only a draw against Uruguay to win the title but lost 2-1 at Rio Maracana Stadium to an audience of about 205,000, the largest ever seen anywhere in the world.
Switzerland 1954
Final: 4 July 1954 at the Vandkorv Stadium in Berne.
Hungary were the favorites to win the title with Ferenc Puskas, Jojev Pujek, Chandor Kucić and Nandor Hidekuti, who were unbeaten in the last 30 caps.
In the six months leading up to the tournament, the Hungarian team became the first European team to beat England at Wembley with a 6-3 win before repeating a 7-1 victory in Budapest. Hungary also re-formulated football techniques by relying on the late striker and playing " Universal ball "with players moving around the stadium.
Hungary began the tournament by crushing South Korea 9-0, then West Germany 8-3 before becoming a party to the famous "Battle of Berne" against Brazil when they expelled three players and clashed the two teams in the dressing rooms. With a 4-2 win, Hungary qualified to play against champions Uruguay in the semi-finals to win 4-2 as well.
Hungary also began the final with a superb 2-0 lead over Germany eight minutes into the game before the Germans broke through in a superb way and the match ended with a 3-2 win.
The 26 matches saw 140 goals with the highest scoring record of 5.4 in the match.
Sweden 1958
Final: June 29, 1958 at the Rassunda Stadium in Stockholm
The finals were the first "modern" World Cup with the spread of television and the participation of 16 teams that were divided into four groups before the start of the stage of the knockout system.
England's hopes were high at the start of the tournament, but the crash of Manchester United in Munich in February 1958 killed Roger Berne, Tommy Taylor and Duncan Edwards.
Brazil won the title for the first time with the participation of 17-year-old Pele and in the beginning of his career to become the best player of all time. Pele shook Wales's net and then added three goals to beat Brazil 5-2 to France in the semi-final before scoring two more goals to lead his country to a 5-2 victory over Sweden, the host country in the final.

Chile 1962
Final: 17 June 1962 at the National Stadium in Santiago
Chile suffered massive earthquakes in 1960 causing the destruction of thousands of homes.
"We have to organize the World Cup because we have nothing else left and the tournament has already been held in Chile," said Carlos Deitburn, president of the Chilean Football Federation.
The tournament resulted in another victory for Brazil, although Pele's participation was limited to the opening game, scoring a great goal to lead Brazil to a 2-0 victory over Mexico before he was injured.
Brazil beat Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the final thanks to goals from Amarildo, Zito and Fava after Josef Mausopust, Europe's best player in 1962, put Czechoslovakia ahead.
The tournament saw a notorious match called "Battle of Santiago" between Italy and Chile, in which two Italian players were expelled and broke the last nose of a Chilean player flying in the air.
England 1966
Final: 30 July 1966 at Wembley Stadium in London
The host country nail the title again after stealing the trophy during its presentation in London.
The trophy was restored thanks to a dog named Bickles found under a cluster of trees in a park in southern London days after it was stolen.
Pele was injured again this time by the Bulgarian defense in the group stage where Brazil was
