How Are Things with the Kings?

in #sports5 years ago (edited)

We are 40 games in, there are 82 games in the season. We are second to last in the western conference. We are 200/1 odds to win the Stanley Cup. We have 35 points. Western conference leaders Jets and Flames are rocking 52 points each.

The Good News.

We now have a competitive team as shitty as our record looks. The only outstanding question is if we can make the playoffs. It is strange to say but I think we can do well in the playoffs with the way this team is playing now, if we can make it into the playoffs! In our last 10 we are 5-3-2 for 12 points. This is good because we won against some very good teams during that run like the Jets, Sharks, Knights and Avalanche. We have won 5 of our last 6 games. While we only have 35 points the last wild card team has 44 points right now. It is very possible to make up 9 points in 42 games. Easy man, eeeeasy!

More good news is we are sill waiting for some players like Hagelin and Martinez to return. I am tempted to nibble on those 200/1 odds. This is not investment advice, I am not a certified financial planner.

Keep Your Head Up.
This phrase is used by parrots who think they know what sports are all about. They use it as an excuse to massacre some one on the ice. We were happy to hear Karlsson got a 2 game suspension for his disgusting hit on Wagner, who has been having a pretty damn good rookie year with the Kings. Luckily he wasn't injured too badly, he played 6 minutes in yesterday's game.

The point here is blindsiding some one is a cowardly move and saying "keep your head up" does not excuse cowardly and dangerous behavior. I was disappointed Wagner's teammates didn't take Karlsson behind the woodshed after his bitch ass move.

The "keep your head up" crowd has no idea how sports work.
