Injury Crisis at Manchester United - United vs Leicester.

When your worst fears become reality! This is what United are looking at dead in the face. Arguably, the better players are falling off like flies with random injuries even before the season has properly started leaving it all open for the dead wood to come in.

  • Injuries
    Shaw, Pogba, Martial, Dalot.
  • Doubts
    Lingard (Sickness)
Wan Bissaka (Back injury from carrying the defense)

A majority of these players are critical absentees in a must win game. The fact that we did not sign any midfielders is now coming to bite United as Pogba, the only creative midfielder in the senior squad, strutted off with an ankle injury.

How Manchester United find themselves in this position every other season is beyond me. Either the dietitians, the physio or the medical team are incompetent or we just have too many injury prone players.

With a thinning squad, the manager has no choice but to look at his youth prospects to bulk up the ranks. But are they good enough?

Here is My Predicted IX Against Leicester.

If all the players that are injured and in doubt are out this is the squad that I would probably go with.

Again, how did we find ourselves in this position with Rojo and Young both starting in a rejuvenated defense?

The midfield is equally shocking with two out of three players having not played more that 20 minutes since the season started 5 weeks ago. Fred has even yet to make the bench as well.

Looking further up the pitch we have the in-form Daniel James, the young Greenwood with bags of potential but without senior squad experience, marshaled by the out of form Marcus Rashford with worse decision making skills than me when I thought eating six eggs in a day was a good idea.

It wasn't.

You may have also noticed that I took out Lindelof from the back line. He has been such an absolute shambles culpable for the Ayew goal at Crystal Palace and the Southampton goal due to his non-existent aerial ability.

Tuanzebe is beefed up, quick and has the slickness and calmness on the ball to rival that of Lindelof. He deserves a chance to cement a place in the team.

Finally, some will say that we were doomed anyway even if we had all our players fit. I do agree with that. Manchester United are woeful. That I have already accepted. It is where we are after we finally started kicking the dead wood out of the club.

At the moment we are just living in hope that in the coming transfer windows we will continue to sign quality players to improve the Solskjaer project but until then we are a mid-table team.

I think they can cope if Chelsea can cope without Hazard

Chelsea and United are uniquely in a similar position in regards to the age of the squad. But you have to admit their midfield is much more superior and that is where most assist will come from.
