Nigeria hosted Benin Republic in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier yesterday.
It was the first game of the qualifying series for both countries.
The Super Eagles were favourited to not just win the game, but also to qualify from Group L for the tournament.
The Super Eagles squad was made up of;
Akpeyi; Aina, Collins, Ekong, Ajayi; Ndidi, Iwobi, Aribo; Kalu, Chukwueze, Osimhen
Goals from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu gave Nigeria it’s first three point in Group L on the road to the 2021 Nations Cup.
So it was 2-1 in favour of Nigeria and Osimhen, Kalu were on target as Eagles overcame the stubborn Squirrels of Benin Republic in Uyo, Nigeria.

The glorious moment started here at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. It is a winning start for us in this campaign.
We couldn't get the reactions on the game due to the shambolic coverage. Such an important match could not be properly aired.
The coverage was actually a disgrace, it was like a throwback from pro independence days.
We look up to int'l TV stations to watch matches in our country. I don't understand how a Nig match would be played and no TV station in the country could be licensed to air or transmit it.
