Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says he is not “absolutely happy” with points dropped during the impressive unbeaten run since taking over the reigns at Stamford Bridge.

The 1-0 victory at Anfield on Thursday marked Tuchel’s 10th game at Chelsea and so far, they are yet to taste defeat under his stewardship.

Having collected 15 points out of possible 24 points under the new manager, Chelsea now sit fourth in the table and are clearly closer to their target to qualify for the Champions League.

However, it is not enough, according to Tuchel himself.
“Normally, you have to analyse every game and result [separately], but we are unhappy that we drew in two [v Southampton and Manchester United]
We need these points in any situation and right now we have a race to be in the top four and we need every point.

“So we are not absolutely happy with the results, but the performances were on the highest level, the energy I liked [it] a lot.”

That is a mentality that the Blues fans will be happy with.

Some would say that it is unrealistic to pick up every point available, but the outstanding defensive record under Tuchel suggests it is far from impossible.

With a solid defence as a foundation, this Chelsea side only need one moment of individual brilliance to secure wins.

Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount’s respective match-winning goals against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool proved that.
