Judging from the time record, Czech Republic MotoGP presents the fiercest competition on the podium since other races in Estoril 12 years ago.

Race in Brno, Sunday (05/08/2018), marks the return of the 2018 MotoGP roll after the summer break period. Direct racing took place fiercely.

In the 2018 MotoGP 10th race series Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati appeared as the winner, followed by Jorge Lorenzo who was his team-mate. Standings Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) finished third.

Judging by the time record, the three riders on the Czech Republic MotoGP podium are just 0.368 seconds adrift. Speedweek.com and Motorcycle.com refer to it as the fiercest time span since the race in Estoril in 2006.

In the Portuguese MotoGP at the Estoril Circuit on October 15, 2006, Toni Elias, Valentino Rossi and Kenny Roberts Jr. occupied the podium through fierce competition which made all three of them only 0.176 seconds apart.

Given the fierce competition at the Czech Republic MotoGP podium, Dovizioso who became the winner was delighted absurdly. He called it a perfect weekend, having previously won pole position in the race.

"I'm very happy, it's a perfect weekend," he said at Speedweek.com.

"Starting the race from pole has helped me to maintain the tire's durability very well. My strategy is perfect. I adjusted it lap by lap. I also tried to analyze the rivals," said Dovi.
