Cristiano Ronaldo has been an ever present figure for Real Madrid. When Bale left Tottenham for Real Madrid, back in 2013. The Welshman has paid his dues, so he deserved this spotlight to himself, seeing how he ravaged Inter Milan defense with an amazing Hat-trick, back in 2012. He wanted some attention for his exploits and we can all understand that.

He got to Real Madrid and the media were interested to see what will happen with Ronaldo, because he love the limelight too. Ronaldo was just outshining him every time. Bale inconsistency and injuries played another vital part too.

Cristiano Ronaldo continued with this. Bale came into Madrid earning a whooping 300,000 pounds a week. We all know Cristiano loves the limelight and wouldn't want anyone to overshadow him. He has that in Lionel Messi already, in the league, so he wouldn't want another, especially not in Real Madrid, and that is why you will see Benzema literally pass the ball to him, even when he has the goal at his mercy hahaha (jokes).

As a Manchester United fan, it is natural for me to like Cristiano Ronaldo, in fact, i love him and wouldn't hide that fact, but i like stating the obvious, leaving sentiments aside most times. He loves attention and limelight, as evident with several threats he has given about his leaving Real Madrid in order to get more bumper pay and being talked about. Remember when Lionel Messi got a bumper rise? Noticed that several months after, he threw tantrum until he got his as well.

Now, his ill timed post match analysis has given people another reason to talk about him for a longer while again, even when he didn't influence much in the final with Liverpool, and the person who suffer more is Gareth Bale this time.

Gareth has been hoping to get his moment and attention, which was evident with how he celebrated his wonder goals.

Cristiano still has a long term contract with Real Madrid, with a buy out clause of $1 billion, for a 33 year old. So, you will understand this effort by him is to bring the limelight back to himself, so people can talk about him and his future for a longer time. This is ill timed and he admitted in the second interview he had, where he said he shouldn't have, and he is not trying to take focus away from their history making moment. We all know he eventually did. Ronaldo is a smart man.

Every time Bale tried to get his moment, it doesn't last that much. Remember i said in my last post yesterday that, if it was Ronaldo who scored that wonder goal, we would keep hearing about it for weeks, and months. It was the focus on Karius that tried to take Bale's moment away from him, with also the Sergio Ramos' wrestle with Salah, which ultimately gave him a shoulder injury, that might rule him out of World Cup for Egypt.

Now, the attention seeking man has done it again for Bale. Is Bale really that unfortunate?

That is Ronaldo for you!! 😁

Hahahaha abi?

Ronaldo is the best ❤

I love him too.

I'm glad someone is also sharing my sentiment. Since Ronaldo couldn't get goal in the final, I knew he would find a way to be at the spotlight. He is a player that wants every headline to be about him. The bitter reality about ronaldo's play for two season now is that he contributes less to the team when he is not scoring. This is very clear right from the second leg of quarter finals against juventus to the final. This is the main reason Ronaldo will rather wait for goal scoring opportunies than do the running or build up play, getting the goal will make him the hero of the day. At least, the likes of Benzema(striker turned winger) bale and Isco are there to help him achieve that. I keeping saying this that this madrid team with a good striker like suarez or Harry kane or Aguero, without ronaldo will still win champions league. Little Wonder why no serious striker has been signed asides benzema since Huguain left, but I'll have to give credit to him for remaining consistent over the years.

So the fact Ronaldo is stealing the spotlight again is not a new thing, and I'm not surprised. It's just like Euro 2016. I just feel bad for Bale for not getting the credit and moments he deserves.

Exactly, he is not getting the attention he deserves. Maybe he would when Ronaldo leaves but he need to be a bit consistent too and follow fitness regimen that Ronaldo does that makes him to manage to stay fit, even at 33.

Yes,Ronaldo do little now because he is aging and he tries to conserve his energy a little bit more, due to World Cup too. The Ronaldo of three seasons ago would have quickly buried the chances he missed in the final against Liverpool. The truth is, no one would pay that crazy amount for Ronaldo, with his age, except Madrid reduces the asking price. He did what he did for attention. He needs to grow up.

He pushes himself so hard and he always want to stay on top of his game and i really admire that but when he is unable to influence a match he should learn to stay humble and do better in the next match which he has been doing over the year. He needs to stop making everything about him. Well, maybe that is how he stays motivated over the years. Who knows...

Maybe not unfortunate, but when you talk of Madrid, first thing that come to most people's mind is Ronaldo, so when it's not Ronaldo doing it, then the talk won't last long.

Absolutely. When he is not the one doing it, it doesn't gain more attention.

Yes that's it.

Just like music and other forms of entertainment ,football is showbiz. Cristiano Ronaldo is not just a footballer but a brand name .As such, being low-key is bad for business.
The more attention, the better for business. Strategy 101

Hahaha he is using it well.
