Purpose
After the most recent DAOn Hall, I ran a series of polls in an attempt to determine what proposals the SPS DAO would like to see related to its ongoing DeFi strategy. The poll exploring how or if the DAO would like to offer LP incentives going forward concluded with a resounding "No." You can view the results of that poll here.
Proposal
If this proposal passes, the SPS DAO will make the following changes:
- Stop issuing all LP incentives on July 31st 2025
- The tokens intended for use as LP incentives will remain in that particular reward bucket unless they are otherwise reallocated by a subsequent proposal
Notes
If this proposal passes it will be entirely up to the SPS DAO to determine how or even if the tokens will be distributed in the future. The DAO could choose to reassign the tokens for ranked rewards, staking rewards, send them to the DAO treasury or anything else the DAO may determine is a better use of the tokens. If the proposal fails, nothing will change without a subsequent proposal. Thanks for your time and consideration.
You should consider including what amounts we are talking about, or at least a link where people can easily review this.
SPS:Swap.HIVE = 900,000 SPS per month
SPS:DEC = 700,000 SPS per month
DEC:Swap.HIVE = 200,000 SPS per month
These are rough estimates, they should be decreasing by 1% a month. so they're all a bit lower than that in reality. Not sure it's really worth the time to go ask a Splinterlands dev to pull the exact number for this.
I'd say somewhere between 1.5m and 1.8m SPS per month is a reasonable approximation.

Yes! Been waiting for this for a long time. The DAO does not need to be paying people to provide this service anymore.
Sounds good to me. Let the SPSDAO earn the fees for supporting its own token through LPs!
I understand not everyone likes change. There have been plenty of proposals I don't personally agree with, but that's part of DAO governance. I'd like to point you to the section of the whitepaper that makes it clear this is meant to happen and by design.
Please keep in mind that it's the community asking me to explore these issues, run the polls and make the proposals. The DAO may elect to change anything at all related to the SPS Token and how it's distributed. The DAO may also choose to vote against these changes if it doesn't like them. I'm simply gathering information from the community and putting that information into an actionable proposal to be voted on.
