Since I started playing Splinterlands I have been focused on collecting alpha and reward cards. Yet in Untamed there are a few cards that I knew I needed to help in some of my matches. Serpentine Spy is one of them and here is a battle I used it in.
The Battle
The rule sets were Aim True and Equalizer. With benefits towards melee and range monsters and the 22 Mana limit I went with fire splinter. I prefer to use Fire Splinter in low mana matches.
My Formation
I started with Cerberus as my tank monster. I then followed up with Giant Roc, Serpentine Spy, and Kobold Miner. Ended the formation with Ooze and Fire Demon. I had setup a formation where all but Ooze would be able to attack in first and all rounds to follow. The idea was to get as much attacks through at my opponent as soon as I can. With a total of combine of 15 melee attack and 2 range for 22 manas I consider that a very decent offense formation.
My Opponent's Formation
My opponent uses Living Lava as their tank monster. Then follow by Kobold Miner, Spark Pixies, and Fire Elemental. They finish off with Ooze and Furious Chicken. The level of their monsters were reasonable compared to mine, but a weakness they had was putting Pixies and Elemental in the middle of the formation rather than the end. Both range monsters would be useless in attacking once they are in lead position.
The Battle Results
After the first round I realize that rule set Equalizer was neutralizing my Kobold and Spy. Spy was only able to attack the front monster since all monsters' health was the same, while it took my Kobold 4 rounds to knock out Furious Chicken. The sneak and opportunity abilities were not good in the match. Fortunately my opponent's weakness in placing range monsters too close to the front of their formation was their undoing. I was able to outlast them once their Lava and Kobold were knocked out the remainder of the formation was breaking down as I had enough monsters remaining to apply enough damage and take the win.
