Lesson Learned: Energy Capture Rate Matters

Lesson Learned Energy Capture Rate Matters.png

I started playing Splinterlands nine days ago. I fell hard for the game. I just wanted to play and didn't do much reading or research. I played the heck out of my two accounts and lowered my Energy Capture Rate ECR below 20%.

Draining my ECR like that was a huge mistake. I played for hours but made very little progress and only a tiny bit of DEC. So I spent the weekend NOT playing Splinterlands and letting the ECR on my accounts recharge. I did some reading and research and learned the following:

  • ECR affects everything.
  • Keep ECR above 75%.
  • Don't grind too hard.
  • It takes four days for an account to fully recharge.

In addition to a high ECR, I learned the importance of winning streaks and playing with gold foil cards to maximize reward bonuses.

After my weekend hiatus, armed with new knowledge, I was excited to play Splinterlands on Monday morning. My Splinter focus was Death, and I rented a deck with several Gold Foil Cards and went to town. The results were great.

I played for about 45 minutes (in Bronze 3) until my ECR was at 75%. I got fourteen focus chests, 10 DEC, and rose in rating to Silver 3, though I chose to stay in Bronze for now.

In conclusion, I learned that keeping a high Energy Capture Rate is essential to maximize the value of your playtime.
