Hi Hivers,
When in Malaga or Andalucia one of the more adventurous things to do is to walk the Caminito del Rey which is a boardwalk in a steep gorge for those without fear of heights.
So today I am booking for entrance tickets already as you better order in advance. Only 1100 people are left on the walk each day and you must start before 2 pm in the one way walk.
You must have closed shoes, you get a helmet and chagiong clothes during the walk is prohibited. At the end a shuttle bus takes you back.
The original Caminito was a service path for the power plant build in the gorge and quite some people died there. Also now some climb the steep walls (prohibited ) and fell dow, A guide on tv said more youngsters go there after it was prohibited. Young Spaniards and risky stuff!!! (Think of bull fights!)
A train from Malaga takes you to the village EL Chorro in an hour, then a free shuttle bus for those with tickets and a 10 minute walk to the entrance. Tickets are 10 EUR or 18 with Guide.
We plan our trip there for the third week of October!
Hasta luego amigos.
