@Builderofcastles I was in building maintenance, and a "Remodeling Contractor" for 30 yrs, so I understand what you're saying. I was lucky enough to find my "Soul Mate" though and we've been married for 25 yrs now. Now for automation..... "Independent" Family farms won't benefit!!! Corporate farms with Gubernment connections will!!! This together with the tariff bulls#$t will drive the family farmers out of business, and their land will go cheap to the Corporations. On the other side, a "Revolution" in how food is produced is beginning to take hold!!!! Here's one video, click on arrow to view.

The garden-bot... i applaud them for trying
The 3D gantry crane structure is easy to program.
All the software has already been built for the CNC / 3D printers.
But, man, that track is expensive, and not weather and dirt proof.
I would have started with a bot that used wheels to run on top of 2xs,
but this requires a much more sophisticated system for location detection.
I would have started with actually using biscopic image detection. But that is a LOT of programming, before you could even begin working on placing a seed.
