Steemit Statistics - 2017.06.26

in #statistics8 years ago

Welcome to my daily analytical report about Steemit.

All the information presented in this report are based on the data collected from the blockchain until 2017-06-26 midnight UTC time. The goal of this report is to provide you with a clear view on what is happening daily on Steemit.

1. New users

This chart shows the number of newly registered users on Steemit and how many of them became active. We see that a lot of accounts are registered, but never used.

Warning: this graphic is kind of dynamic! A user can register one day and become a few days later. Therefore, the number of active users on a specific date may change from day to day.

In this graph, the orange line shows the total number of registered accounts.
The green line shows how many of them have been active at least once (by active, I mean those who made at least one post, comment or upvote). They are included even if they become inactive later.

2. Post and comments

These graphs show the evolution of posts and comments for the whole blockchain lifetime and for the last 30 days.

3. Curation

These graphs show the evolution of curation (upvotes) for the whole blockchain lifetime and for the last 30 days

4. Active users

These graphs show the activity of users over time and in more details for the last 30 days.

5. Daily transactions

This graph shows the number of daily transactions. This give you an idea of the whole activity on the blockchain.

6. Categories

This graph shows the tag has been the most used for publishing posts for the whole blockchain lifetime.

This graph shows the tag has been the most used for publishing posts last day.

7. Distribution

This graph shows the distribution of the reputation among users. Accounts with a reputation lower than 25 have been removed to keep the graph readable.

This graph shows the distribution of the voting power (it now includes the new "Inactive" and "Red Fish" levels - check @steemitboard blog for more info about this).

8. Payout evolution

These graphs show the maximum reward paid on a post (or comment) for each day (whole blockchain life and last 30 days).

These graphs show the total of the distributed payout (posts and comments) for each day.

These graphs show the average and median payout per post for the last 30 days.
The last one indicates that if yesterday you got the latest value shown on this chart for your post, you should be happy because there are as much people that have earned more than you than people that have earned less than you.

I hope you find those stats useful. If you would like to see different stats, feel free to drop me a comment. Your feedback is more than welcome.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks for sharing this statistic
and the graph shows the distribution of the reputation among users.
Thanks for good work
Happy to be one of your followers
Have a great and sunny day

Median payout shot up. I mentioned in the past that this must always come down, like gravity. Only ways for it to come down are for more users and posts, or a price crash.

While it is high, posting is very attractive because even the typical post, which may not take very much effort at all, is bringing in worthwhile money. If you're familiar with basic economics, it's like a 'perfect competition' environment with supernormal profit.

I prefer a high median price. It means a better equity in payout distribution.

It would defy the laws of economics for the median payout to remain high for long.

High distribution can be consistent with low median payout. The way median payout normally drops is an increase in the number of posts. Lots of well paid posts = high distribution.

It's interesting to see how much more commenting there is versus blogging. Is this a sign of a problem or sign of a budding community? I'm stuck somewhere in between thinking this is indicative of a community but also shows a recent jump in spam.

With so many steemit articles promoting commenting as a strategy I think there will be a steady rise in comments which are just for the sake of upvotes and not genuine interaction/feedback. Once the content discovery and visibility of posts by minnows improves other things might fall in place.

your post is always informative.
thank you.

One day, steemit will overtake facebook

Hopefully STEEM value will overtake Facebook's value too :D

thanks for sharing

@steemitboard seems to have stopped working for me. I have done more than 20 posts total, 4 posts in one day, earned a payout, and earned rewards.

I'm not sure where else to direct this inquiry.

SteemitBoard rely on SteemSQL to compute your values.
The last one was struggling a bit to manage the growing number of transactions.
I have been working on improving performances and your account on SteemitBoard should be up to date very soon.

He @arcange, I understand you are involved in the Steemit Board of Honor. Well, there is a flaw on that website. Please read my short shoutout "Steemit Board of Honor Severely Outdated!" https://steemit.com/steemitboard/@food-for-thought/steemit-board-of-honor-severely-outdated and please comment.

Awesome report as alyways @arcange ! You really inspired me when I first came across your blog! Thank you so much for that, I really appreciate it!

I've just featured your report in my report (report-ception) !

Thanks for your feedback. Replied to your post.

Can I create also a nice footer image like you have ? Is this done by steemitboard.
Thank you running steemitboard. For me one of the most encouraging things on steemit. I like the little awards. Gives me hope.

Will be interesting to see number of posts relatively to reputation.

That's a good idea! I will try to add it to my next stats. Thanks for the suggestion.
