Upper Pylon 2

Last night I again had the pleasure and the privilege to appear on "Upper Pylon 2: A Star Trek Deep Space Nine Review podcast."

We had a great discussion about one of the best episodes on the series, "It's Only a Paper Moon." The young Ferengi Nog returns home after losing his leg in battle. Depressed and afraid for his future, he withdraws in the holosuite world of 1962 nightclub singer Vic Fontaine. Vic enjoys his new perspective on his life, and bonds with Nog, but then realizes Nog needs to leave this holographic reality for the real thing.

We touched on many topics, including the treatment of mental illness, PTSD, veterans reintegrating in civilian life, and the nature of reality itself.

Of course, the podcast can be found on iTunes, and this episode will drop in a few weeks.
