After we had some resource issues after HF20 we decided to implement some changes for Steem-Bounty.
First and foremost we have added a new service:

We have built a new feature that will help you get upvotes using your own SteemPower.

Main new Feature Changes for Steem-Bounty
- There is now a minimum size for a bounty: 0.5 SBD or STEEM
- There is now a minimum winning size for a bounty winning payout, to avoid tiny bounties split among many people and being irrelevant.
- If someone is winning less than the min payout value then distribute that amount among other winners
- Optimize the winner declaration messages so that there is no more" "has won 0.000 STEEM/SBD either from community or creator"
- Winners list should come in the order of highest winning amount in bounty declaration comment
- Stop refunding invalid bounties i.e. if bounty amount is less than min. bounty amount, URL is invalid or post has already been paid out
- The community payout is now 2%, basically serving as a fall back in case the creator does not vote.
Why is there a minimum
We noticed that some users are trying to get attention by making it onto the steem-bounty.com website with tiny bounties.
We also thought that bounties that are less than $0.5 simply don't make much sense.
The same holds true for the bounty payouts. We noticed that there are still some poeple that try to bot-upvote comments so we feel this won't work as well with these limits.
We also need to make sure we don't run out of RC, although that fear has been a little exaggerated.
New FAQs
We implemented an FAQ functionality into Steem-bounty.com so we can do a better job of explaining how everything is working. We will are still working on the content, but this will be out very soon.
New Explainer Bounties
We are looking for more explainer content that we can link to in the FAQs. We will launch some promotional content for that soon.

Users can simple upvote authors here indefinitely now, so posts can live and earn rewards forever.
Authors can share their steem-bounty.com links with your followers and get upvoted forever.
We hope this will allow authors to earn more meaningful rewards over longer timeframes than before.
This is definitely a much needed update and a great news for Steem Bounty participants. Putting a minimum winning size for a bounty winning payout will surely help from splitting the bounty prize to many people. Thanks for this update!
Thanks for the update. I see some nice changes being made. A min bounty makes sense and 0.50 looks perfect to me. It lets new users test the service before placing a bigger bounty.
I also like the list of bounty winners listed highest to lowest. Good idea to keep some of the community rewards as a fail safe.

Think these changes are much needed. No reason to be wasting resources with tiny bounties. The 2% idea is good also, while the community having some say was nice it lead to abuse from spammers. At 2% I don't see the spammers wasting their time.

Someone tell me I waste my time on Steemi. There was no benefit no earn money. Is it true? What's your opinion about that? I tell him I not just want money, but I also gather lot's of knowledge and lot's of beautiful friends.
My simple answer is if blog and interact because you enjoy doing it and you view any rewards you earn are a bonus then you can only win.
To me a waste of time is sitting on Facebook making Facebook money.

But i put my first bounty on a post and didn't know that minimum amount was changed. just came to know through your post. I have not received the bounty neither the fund back. as there was no announcement of mthe minimum fund. can you resolve the issue?
