Before and after, but not during the problem. These newbies are simply cut off and except for a few people (5? 10?) nobody lifts a finger to help the through this period. I don't even want to know how many (talented) newcomers have left already....

If I were rich, I could do more... but I'm not. I'm paying for STEEM delegation myself. As you comprehend, I cannot start delegating to new users at this point, because I'm not Santa Claus. I cannot invest my hard earn money... and then offer it to others.
That would be like spending my salary buying Google Shares, only to offer them to the first 3 homeless people I encounter. Yes, they might be hungry, yes, they might need the money... but I can't be their saviour.
So, I just do what I can to help new users, namely on this contest.

I'll leave the delegating SP to the rich users that can afford it.
If everyone would do what he could, this place would be a lot nicer for everyone.
No one expects you to delegate your SP to others. @pifc is a great way to support the smaller accounts. Thank you for putting in the effort. Personally, I have never found the time to enter.

You don't have to make an entry to help.
I usually make an entry but I also upvote and comment on almost every entry from other participants... And also support their chosen candidates.
But it does take up some time. I was asked as a guest judge last week, so I found out myself.
I think it's a great initiative, and everybody who is involved in one way or the other is a generous person.
