We attended a house warming feast held by a friend today. The location is not very far from our area. The invitation was sent through Whatsapp service a week ago, but I was reminded by my wife, only last night. Due to a very short time to go out to buy something as a present for the new house, I decided to draw a caricature of the couple, hopefully they can hang it somewhere on the blank wall of the house.
I always keep stocks of photo frames, normally bought from IKEA in my store, for emergency cases like this. All I needed was only the subject to be drawn, within the available time. What I did was browsing through their Facebook pages and was very lucky to find one, which I thought quite suitable yo be caticatured...
Mr. & Mrs. Adam.
Adam is a practising Architect. We knew each other for more than 30 years. The whole family are very close to mine. We were equally excited about the newly completed bungalow, designed and constructed by him with the help of his children. One of his sons is also an Architect.
The design is very unique, reflecting his own personal touch and taste. They moved in a week ago even though it was only 90% completed.
The Sketch
It took me sometime to think before I decided to use the fastest method and medium, markers on paper. The size should be A3, to suite the size of the frame.
Done with the pencil sketch in just 20 minutes.
Inking process took me another 30 minutes because markers were easier to handle and saved a lot of time.
Framing is the part I leked best. It enhanced the artworks to look expensive and presentable.
So glad that everybody likes it, especially the house owner. 😊
