Spreading the Cartoon Cheer
This was a recent invitation by the Management and Science University to reach out by creation of illustration for a better and more effective presentation. I was the guest lecturer and the entire session was meant to be a relaxed and casual academic delivery on how the visual multimedia plays and impact the target audiences.
During this session I brought along my good friend @orenisme because I needed an extra pair of hands if hands on drawing is required. The session is to teach effective delivery to the students. Here the image, colour, composition and relevance is important to deliver the message that the product wishes to deliver.
If the cover is to sell an electronic item, the colour has to be engaging depending on the type of electronical product. If the product is a household product, the colour has to be warm and earthy colour. Presenting a product through illustration is not an easy task. It requires identification of the product and the target audiences. It is also not easy to decide on the delivery if the artists is not acquinted with the market. Hence a little experience goes a long way.
Here @orenisme is inspecting the illustration and the folder that contains the progress work and the thought process. The students are required to detail out the component of the illustration that is pieced together and specific details on their choice of colours, composition and image choice.
Because this project has been partly completed, our job is to evaluate and give some pointers as people who are in this field. We try to tell the students how their choice could be better improved and how the product will influence how the illustration to created.

Effective Marketing
While we know cartoon as our daily funnies, cartoons serve many different purposes. One most notable purpose is marketing and given the right labeling and effective presentation, the effect is profound. Till today, there is little to replace visual arts because visual is immediately recognisable and the artistic value adds a different slant to the entire marketing initiative.
There are many talents out there and sometimes these talents are not specific towards creation of characters of illustration but instead it is the choice of colours and proper choice of subject. In the end of the day, there is no replacement to the experience through trial and error.
