Let's Talk About STEEM Monsters...

Ok, so let's get a couple things straight here. I AM NOT here to hate, rant, or even complain about steem monsters or the work the development team has done thus far. I personally have a ton of respect for these guys and the work they are doing. But there are a couple of things I want to talk a little bit about.

Number 1: Dates.
Number 2: Card scarcity.

Now, I am by no means a professional analyzer or mathematician, but I do know a thing or two about TCG's and how they work. So, let's talk monster.

Ok, admittedly this first issue is not a very big deal, but I figured it might be a good idea to briefly touch on it. The dates. Now, steem monsters said that they would be releasing the fighting and tournament mechanics at the end of September. They also said the stats would be released in the next couple weeks. Now, the problem with that is people will be doing a lot of speculation. That may sound like small potatoes, but in my experience, speculation is always bad. The reason being, people will try and figure out the fighting mechanics before they come out and one of two things will happen. Either people will stock up on certain things and end up wasting their time, or worse they will end up overpowered, either one is bad. Like I said, not the hugest deal, but worth mentioning.

Alright, on to number two. Card scarcity. There is a lot to talk about here so I will try and keep it brief. Ok, card scarcity is a big problem when most TCG's start out, and is no small task to solve. What it basically means is that there are so few cards that when you battle, half the time you throw the same card. Also, When collecting it takes a lot less time to obtain every card, and people will slowly lose interest because they have them all. Now, it may sound slightly trivial, but it really is a big problem. The solution? Make more cards. But that, as I said, takes time. And time isn't exactly on the development teams side, seeing as they have until the end of September until the game is operational.
