I*ve reached reputation 70 this week.
It is very good because it came much earlier than I thought.
I have to tell you something, it does not matter. Really, it's nice to have a great reputation, but at the end of the day it does not matter.
Why am I saying that? Because there are so many accounts with a small reputation that have proper authority in their field and some have a high reputation but no one knows them.
There is also the steem-ua value. Yes, that's nice too, but it does not matter in the end.
It very much refers to who you follow and who follows you. If you are followed by a Top 10 Witness you will get a very high value. For example, you can not see @neilstrauss in the Top100, and it's one of the best-known authors in the world.
I made the mistake of optimizing my value with the steem-ua by unfollowing several accounts. That is nonsense. These accounts were there for a reason.
But what should count? I think that the personal relationships are important. At SteemFest I met so many interesting people that I follow now, even if they will not follow me. I'm simply interested in these people and to build a relationship with them.
What do you think? Is it important to have a higher reputation?

First of all congratulations Alex!
I also feel the same way about reputation systems, whether it's this score or the user authority. Of course, I'm nowhere near your numbers.
But they do matter for readers sometimes. And having a rep of 70+ draws attention positively. As does having a -5 or a 32, but in different ways. If I were to read the comments of steem-ua on my posts, they often draw attention too, but in a negative way.
erstmal Glückwunsch lieber @alexvan .... ich denke die Reputation ersetzt auch keinen Menschen. Ich gebe dir recht. Die Beziehung ist das wichtigste.... Man mag jemanden oder nicht. Das kann man aber nur feststellen, wenn man sich auch mal gesehen hat und tatsächlich von Angesicht zu Angesicht stand.

I think that's quite an achievement and anyone who has been here for a while understands that.

I guess the importance of reputation is somewhat relative, depending on your goals and the value of the platform. When Steem was worth more that eight dollars, it was very important -- now at 59 cents, for me, posting is more about personal satisfaction than anything else.
In any case, I think reaching 70 is something to celebrate!
Congratulations Alex! It might not matter but it's a milestone and it's work behind it!
It is only important to have a high reputation on Steemit if that a quantitative number indeed has prominent forces compared to a similar account of half the reputation score. Steemit "scoring" is relative to the almighty Dollar no matter which angle is dissected

Für mich war das bisher eher so ein kleines Indiz dafür, wie aktiv jemand ist. Einen weiteren Nutzen habe ich bisher noch nicht darin erkannt.

Congrats on the achievement ;-) I remember that I was dreaming about reaching rep 60 lol.. and then it was there.. nothing changed ;) Still me, still the same things happening like every other day.. then it went up.. and now I'm at 65 .. it doesn't matter, it's just a number..
But it looks nice!

Glückwunsch! Ich finde es schon eine Leistung die 70 zu erreichen. Bei mir hat das über zwei Jahre gedauert.
Also immerhin muss man eine ganze Menge Posts schreiben, um dahin zu kommen. Über die Qualität sagt das natürlich nicht so viel aus, da man ja auch Votes kaufen kann.
Ich stimme dir jedenfalls zu, dass persönliche Beziehungen hier wichtiger sind, als alles andere. Doch letzten Endes geht es um den Spaß an der Sache, nicht wahr?

Ich achte gar nie darauf, wer hat welche Reputation oder wie viel Steem, ich folge den Menschen, die ich spannend und sympatisch finde :)
Congratulations @alexvan. What you have said is so true. Reputation doesn't really matter at all. There are also other ways increase reputation. I'm not going to comment on that. Making good friends is the only good reputation according to me. I just reached 60 reputation last week. I'll also be making a post on that.

I think its very difficult to get any witnesses to follow newer accounts. The high reputation does seem impressive to a "new-comer", but in the end I think you right it is not important. Share your posts, interact with the community and get involved, its not only about money its also about enjoyment!

Glückwunsch lieber Alex! Ja, ich denke diese Reputation ist nicht sooo wichtig, vielleicht ein gewisser Anhaltspunkt. Ich mache ähnliche Erfahrungen wie du. Ich sehe Leute, die schreiben Schrott und haben mehr als "70" Reputation und andere, die sich mit ihren Posts wirklich sehr viel Mühe geben, haben noch nicht mal "50".

I don't think high rep is a must. There are plenty of active, engaged community members who have lower reputation. However, I remember @razvanelulmarin pointed something out to me sometime ago - that if you see someone with an over 70 rep, well, you know who you're talking to. I mean, they obviously did not come by that number easily, so it's obviously someone who has invested a considerable amount of time and effort into the community.
So, even though for some, the numbers are unjustly high, it's not the case for you:) Like you said, personal relationships should be the most important thing on here and from what I've seen, you've made a lot of those.
