That would be the easiest ways to do it and @ned actually replied to one of my recent posts talking about the distribution issue and said the same thing. To use an SMT to start another community / website.

The issue with it is that to fund the project a ton of STEEM would have to be purchased an injected into the system for it to have any value. So if STEEM overall was suffering from a distribution issue already and no one could obtain a large amount of it without paying millions then it becomes cheaper to fund a team to start from the existing code and do a fair distribution from the beginning.

I guess Golos.io is getting shut down by the Russian Government as well so a lot of those community members are in limbo over there as well until they move it to another domain. I sent my Golos Gold that was over there to Bittrex encase that website goes down for awhile.

There are a lot of members of these communities that would love systems like this with a more equal starting point.
