Unfortunately, it seems like this is not going to happen because the Steemit team rejected the proposal due to its complexity in favor of just simple recovery from lost password by a single recovery agent specified beforehand (and as it stands so far, in that simplified proposal there are no user adjustable time limits and a compromised posting or active authority can prevent recovery, both of which I think are big mistakes).
