I would like to highlight, recently I've spent 55.812steem to rent 3000sp from @minnowbooster. I've written a post about it, which is 2 days ago. If you have not read it, you can find it here
Here's the transaction detail I've sent to @minnowbooster, and later on all 6 of them were taken within the next 12 hours. I don't know whether should I be happy, because I was expecting only half of them will be taken, and by right today the third day 1/2 of that lease should be automatically cancelled due to no taker. Happy for it, because I was dying to try to upvote others with bigger power. Worry of it, because after 28 days I will either forkout another 55.812 steems(or more due to inflation) to continue the lease.
Fortunately, after I got my first 5 delegations, I already send them to @wherein immediately, and they have revised their upvote value. Currently, my total delegation to @wherein is 3500sp in total(including existing delegations). I would expect my future leasing and cost average be covered in block of 500sp, and each of these block cost 9.302steem. And my 7 blocks should cost me 65.114steem every 28 days. I will not know if the cost can cover, since I decided to support @wherein, even if it run into a minor loss, I would still continue the lease and cover the cost for @wherein. Let's run a calculation and see the profitability.
- $0.748 upvote = gross value before other expanses
- After 10% for SPS/EIP = $0.6732
- After curator taken back 50% = $0.3366
- Convert to Steem value(current $0.16) = 2.103
So, everyday I should be expecting to recover 2.103 steems from @wherein. Despite I know for a fact, 1/2 of the payout will be in SP, and it will take 14 weeks to completely power down, there's no way I will be able to collect back the full amount of payout within 28 days! Let's run a multiplier and see if I be able to cover my cost. I am going to power up myself in the end, regardless. So, let's set aside the idea of power down for now. We will go forward with using my own cash to continue pumping up my lease and grow the community.
2.103steems * 28 days = 58.884steems
Liquid payout 50% = 29.442steems
Stake payout 50% = 29.442SP
By the look of it, seems like I'm running into a loss regardless. 65.114steem is no where near this fiture. Matter of fact, every 28 days I will lost up to 6.3steems. Let's not panic, as far as I'm concern, wherein also pay daily dividen from the curation reward. Let's take the lastest payout and do a calculation from there.
For every 3500sp delegation, I'm getting 0.848steems. Which means, there's a chance that the following 28 days, I will be able to get back around this value?
0.848 * 28days = 23.744steems
Total from @wherein = 58.884 + 23.744 = 82.628steems
Well, hypothetically, that's the most ideal situation. I know, SBD price can continue to go down, and the dollar value in Steem will shrink. I also aware if #steem gain value, the number of steem payout will reduce. That's the risk I willing to bear in this investment, in supporting @wherein. Let's pray this works and I will be able to sustain for as long as possible. Cheers
Before I didn't understand what you really meant to be. It was last year, about your investment. Do you know that I am also doing it but only 1k for 26.777 for one month. Now I easily understood.. Thank you for your encouragement @davidke20

嗯。差不多。不同的是，如果涨价我就会亏😅 因为赚回来的 SBD 会变成兑换很少 Steem。当然，别人会说升值了，少几个 steem 不要紧，不过我是花 steem 去租借点赞了的。这是预算中的事，只是看最后我拿回更多不值钱的 Steem ，又或是拿少几枚比现在更值钱的 Steem 。

Thanks buddy. Well, the investment is on @wherein project to onboard the Chinese bunch which currently China government had banned steemit.com due to Google ads being used. I too hope the price will regain strength, I would make a loss, but price hike should stimulate more steem activity and it's good for the steemconomy. I don't mind sacrifices that rental, that means my existing 4700steem would increase value 😎
