A website that tracks decentralized applications (DApps), stateofthedapps.com, has added Steem, the world’s leading blockchain powered social network to its listings. As a result, the social network’s dapp usage and activities can be tracked by the website.

This listing has seen Steem being listed beside Ethereum and EOS on its “Rankings by Platform” page on the website.

The listing which was done on the 17th of December, is still seeing the platform’s dapps being added to the website. This means therefore, that you may not necessarily have these decentralized apps arranged on the basis of their popularity. This will be updated once all the DApps are fully listed.

Currently, Steemit is the platform’s most popular dapp, followed by eSteem, the platform’s mobile app. Others include Utopian, Steem Monsters collectible game and DTube. Even though Steemit had to compete with another 5,000 dapps currently listed on the website, it is listed in the top 5, currently edged out by EOS’ BingoBet.

Interestingly, ethereum, which is the platform that hosts many dapps isn’t performing well according to the website. As a result, it is poorly ranked for dapp user rankings. That may change in the future though, if the platform resolves its scalability problems.

Steem however, seems to be gaining massive momentum, reporting over a million transactions on its site in 24 hours. It’s currently actively beating bitcoin and ethereum that are only doing just 50 percent of its current numbers.

Of course, this is rather usual when a new project is added to the platform as seen when Waves processed over 6 million transactions, EOS processed almost 5.5 million transactions and ethereum processed 1.3 million transactions.

The increased usage of decentralized apps and their adoption might be the future. This is why the website is interested in getting Steem to get its best performing decentralized applications on the website, out of its current 445 applications.

In spite of State of Dapps listing Steem, market observers say it’s missed out a key platform –TRON. A competing website called DappRadar currently has TRON dapps listed on its website, bit hasn’t included Steem.

With TRONbet, TRON’s most popular app executing almost 2 million transactions a day, this is a huge platform to overlook. State of the Dapps therefore, might want to check out TRIN’s platform and see if it can be included in their listings.

These inclusions are necessary to track dapp performances in the industry. Having realtime data about performing dapps can give investors an idea of how well a dapp and its platform is performing, thus influencing their investment decisions as well as provide the necessary data.
