Steem transaction volume already crashed by 90%, we are only 2 days into HIVE!

So now that we are two days into our new HIVE chain, the transaction volume of STEEM is already down by more than 90% compared to the 7-day average.

Let that sink in for a minute...

7day average: 711419 tx
today: 63078 tx

See for yourself here:

Any bad news for STEEM is good news for HIVE. And good news for STEEM is also good news for HIVE, because if Sun achieves anything noteworthy, we can just copy it because it's open source software :D

I feel rejuvenated by Hive. This is the best thing that could have happened and I can't wait to see where this leads.

I feel the same. Now everything is in the hands of the community to make this place flourish.

Any statistics on Hive ?
Did all the activity is now on Hive or has the activity dropped for both blockchains ?
This information would be needed to have a clear view on this matter. Maybe the hardfork just made people wait for the dust to settle before coming back.

you could ask the @blocktivity account on STEEM if he would also include HIVE into the list. I don't know any other source that is counting up the daily transactions.
HIVE transactions technically cannot really drop as there is not even a 7-day average yet, to compare it to.

Yeah, need a little more time for everything to stabilize and really see how the activity split between the two chains and how it plays with time.
It will be really interesting to follow.
But if the development only continues on Hive (and it seems it will be the case), it won't be a surprise to see activity on Steem decline while Hive's increase.
I think some of the people doing statistics posts will do some Steem/Hive statistics and comparisons.

Hive has very little tx/s right now. Even less than Steem now. This is because people switching between nodes, updating libraries etc.
Need few days (weeks) until we get serious stats.

Yes, and also Splinterlands / Steem-Engine. I don't remember statistics on Steem, but I think it must be like 40% (or more) of all transactions on the blockchain.
I think those two apps migrating will be the "flippening" regarding activity on the two blockchains.
It's gonna be really interesting to see all this unfold in the next weeks ! And also the prices on exchanges as Hive will get listed on Binance or on exchanges used by "easterners".

With the bulk of the content creators switching over and a lot of the DApps starting to move, it is no surprise.

It will be really interesting what Sun and the Koreans ultimately do to keep it alive (if anything).

It is no surprise to me either, but so fast so much less tx is not what anyone would have imagined. If those numbers are correct, it is safe to say that almost the entire core community migrated to HIVE.
Those remaining tx could easily just be 70% auto-voting/curation which means posts and comments are significantly down...

And that is with steemauto still running...
