Steemit Action Stats - Insights into Steemit

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Getting insight into Steemit's actions for 1 hour over 2 days, 'Actions' being all the user interactions with Steemit.com. Actions between 12:00 & 13:00 GMT+2  on 3&4 Aug 2016 displayed.

I started reviewing stats yesterday with a goal at hand, to show the community what is happening in the background of Steemit, and to show some trending and historic data over time.

1. Overall Actions Trend Graph (2 days)

Comments: What is interesting about the above, is a high spike in upvoting, so let's take a look at the upvoting actions in detail;

Upvote details (1 hour - 4/8/16);

  • 195% growth in upvotes
  • 461 unique usernames upvoting out of 4351 upvotes
  • 38 user accounts made a total of 2602 upvotes (40.19% of upvotes)
40.19% of the upvotes were made by the 38 top user accounts

2. Upvoting Chart (Top 38 accounts and amount of votes per account in alphabetical order)

Comments: What is odd is that 36 accounts average between 63 & 78 votes each, sounds suspicious to me!

What are your thoughts?

Sort:

Some of them are good.. But I think some are for nefarious purposes.

yeah these 36 secific accounts are upvoting, i am not 100% sure of the end result yet (higher payouts) but i can assume that would be their modus operandi

Nice article @gord0b

Thanks Faraz, whats your thoughts?

bots

Yeah and multiple accounts

Just saw those top users ...would be interesting to check their accounts one by one

Yes agreed, there is soo much data though, let's see what i can produce next time, some upvoting issues are very apparent (
