Not at all, we Africans do put on black paint too...let me get some pictures of all types of paints ( mostly black and white)
The black is from charcoal mixed with water
This warrior has his face decorated with a distinctive white clay to look more "menacing."
Usually done to ladies as a sign of tradition, sometimes during their traditional marriage or some tradition
So I doubt any real African would be offended by a black paint when we put it on ourselves for one traditional rite or the other.
