RE: 2001 in 565: Meaning to work hard

I like this:

There are no guarantees here, or anywhere in life.

Life itself is a gamble. No matter how safe a job is at some point, things may change overnight. You don´t even need something wrong to happen with your job. Crap can happen, regardless.
So, I agree with your implication; the risks here are high as anywhere else.
Neat allusion to LOTR

Fly you fool, fly!" But, there is no Balrog

Hopefully those who survive the fall will come back shinier and stronger.

This part reminds me of Ben Franklin

I will give it my all and even if I fail miserably, I will know I could do no better than I did.

He wrote:

I never arrived at the perfection I had been so ambitious of obtaining, but fell far short of it, yet I was, by the endeavour, a better and a happier man than I otherwise should have been if I had not attempted it.

Sort:

This is life, no one can know what the future will hold so the best course of action is, do one's best and cross some fingers.

Hahaha. We are on it.
