RE: Steem - Steemit/Steem gets a mention in Cointelegraph

in #steem4 years ago (edited)

At least Steem got some coverage, but I keep asking myself.. where was the Steemit team to take advantage of the situation that just happened on youtube.

Asleep at the wheel I fear and without a clear strategy to take advantage of such censorship on other platforms. Steemit's 'Head of Communications and Advocacy' seems to be too busy promoting his side project at the moment. Or was it Christmas and it was just a bad time?

Good questions. Steem has done a poor job marketing since it was created. It's been especially difficult now with a small team. It seems its mostly up to the users and word of mouth at this point to promote steem. I think we should use the DAO to support a marketing/advertising campaign once SMTs and Communities are up and running at the very least.
