As you stated,the sign up process should be sped up and also the over use of bots!!
I read a few days here that we(Steemit) might get a competitor from the co-founder @dan ie Steem 2.0!
I have also realised that there are many social media sites cropping up that are decentralised and rewards users using crypto.....Steemit devs really need to up the game.
