One of the best ways to start connecting with people and gaining some traction for your blog - is to jump onto discord. If you have not yet downloaded the app (on pc or mobile) then you can do so here:
Once you have downloaded the app and registered yourself, there is a fantastic server run by @xcountytravelers, @thekittygirl, @brittandjosie and many other fantastic individuals. The entire purpose is to connect and guide steem newbies. So they are there to answer your questions as well as connect you with other great Steemians.

This will get you going and connecting with people and blogs that you enjoy and you will grow from there. :) You might also want to add yourself a profile picture so that people can get a sense of who they are engaging with :)

It is under the settings tab on the far right next to your wallet... if you struggle to get it right, it might be easier to get assistance in the chat room of the discord server that I sent you the link to above as you can chat live rather than exchanging comments.
