How many of your Twitter followers are on Steem? If 10000 joined it would make a significant difference for you and the platform. We have to start somewhere. I think bands are a good target as they tend to have loyal fans who are willing to spend money.

To be honest, in all the time I've been pushing steemit and retweeting steemit posts I convinced one writer to come over - he stayed a month and left in frustration despite hours of help and encouragement from me. It's not reddit - it's a complicated and frustrating interface for those who aren't into it - and this person knew coding and had been around a while - it wasn't his first rodeo in other words. Steemians think it's easy recruiting a twitter folloWing - it took me 6 yrs to get over 50K followers and I mean real followers - I talked to Atwood about it once and she admitted she bought a lot of hers. Well, I didn't do that and I can tell you, it ain't easy. You just can't add your twitter following to steemit - wish I could, but I can't and them's the breaks

Steem is a bit technical at first, but tools like Keychain and Steempeak make it simple after the initial setup. There are plenty of technical communities that ought to take to it, e.g. Linux users. I've recruited a few people and some are still here.
