Funny. I'm very new to steemit. Really only in the last couple days have I been looking at my history in my wallet, because I had no history before then. Today I noticed a transfer from an account for .0001 Steem. It confused the hell out of me. Why is some random person sending me money?
Then I see there's something written in the memo. It's someone saying I can have my posts blasted to 8000 accounts for a fee. I check the account - it's already losing reputation, but there are a lot of people still sending it money.
Anyway, I realized two things in that moment: there IS a way to email people on Steemit; and I just received my first piece of Steemit spam.
