Google prohibits Crypto-Ads! Why this should be absolutely great news for Steem! THE BREAK-THROUGH

in #steem7 years ago

Google follows Facebook and shuts down all ads related to cryptocurrency, ICOs and so on.

This is bad news for every crypto (BUT STEEM)

If you look through coinmarketcap.com there are tons of projects which depend on ads in order to get any attention. If Youtubers do not talk about a certain crypto it is not very likely that a newbie would invest in Populous, Nexo or whatever...
Look at all the ICOs from miners and so on, Gambling sites and many more! They all will have to advertise directly on coinmarketcap, and the prices there will rise tremendously.

Steem should skyrocket +200%, not +7%

Steem is the only crypto that can drag in organically many new users who do not want to invest money and just invest their time. It motivates influencers with millions of followers to tell their followers to go to Steemit, subscribe to them and perhaps invest, so that their vote is worth more and helps the influencers' articles to rise to the top. No ads needed... the organic growth is built into Steem!!

A million accounts on Steem of crypto-users at the reach of Advertisers

As we see with the delegation market, users are eager to buy votes for specific articles in order to have them rise to the top artificially. ICO's can do this in order to advertise, or they could buy Steem-Power for themselves... There is so much money going round in the ICO-markets that they could easily buy a million Steem Power in order to promote their messages in the future as well to the millions of users of Steem in the future. (I am sure that in the future we will get to millions of accounts/users).

Normal Crypto-Websites will suffer if they continue to use AdSense and might be forced to use Steems SMTs

coinmarketcap.com is in a special position. Thousands of normal crypto-websites are too small to make individual agreements with advertisers and have really AdSense as the only viable option to generate revenue.
Crypto-Ads pay much more than cat-food-ads (as I was told). The Click-Through-Rate is much better and there is really some competition on getting to crypto-investors...
So imagine, just as an example that today a website is earning a 100 USD/day with AdSense. After the ban the website will only make 10 USD. If with Steem's SMTs it is estimated to earn a 120 USD/day there would be really before the ban not be much of an incentive to implement it. After the ban there surely is a lot of incentive to do it. So this is great for Steem.

Steems chances to be the number 1 platform have increased dramatically

This move from Google is a great move for Steem and have changed dynamics drastically. I am really excited for the future of this currency... And once again Smart Media Tokens are in the spotlight again as well. It is a shame that so many crypto-investors still do not get it and that Steem is still number 26 in the ranking. It should be in the top ten at least! If not number 1. ;)

Disclaimer: This is no investment advice, it is only my opinion.

thanks information @mexbit

Interesting to see your perspective with the effect of the ban with the expectation of the rising of SMT.

finally some scammers will get away from the ads on the one hand is good i think

well if this happens this will not be great for everyone
