Yeah Rose... it's been 84 years since any of us were able to vote on Steem. At least it seems that way.
But you know. There are still people out here voting.
Are they Crazy? Or are they Crazy Like a Fox?
I tend to think they are crazy like a fox.
You have to go back a ways, but there are many posts about the Reward Pool and how it is created. I personally have referenced This Post from @penguinpablo several times. This post was created on July 4th, 2017, so there has been time for this to change, but I think for the most part the argument still holds.
You can go to the post to read all the details, but it boils down to this excerpt:
So each time a new block has been produced, 1.668 STEEM is added to the reward pool.
Every 3 seconds: 1.668 STEEM
Every minute: 33.354 STEEM
Every hour: 2,001.237 STEEM
Every day: 48,029.695 STEEM
Every day Approximately 48,000 STEEM are created (decreased by deflation over the course of the last 14 months, but let's safely call it 45,000+ STEEM). Regardless of how many people vote or how much Steem Power is used, those 48,000 STEEM are being allocated to users. The blocks that produce STEEM are still being pumped out every 3 seconds by our Witnesses, so the STEEM is still being created.
Take 5 days of some of the biggest accounts not voting for anything, all of the legacy accounts with big pools of Steem Power set on Autovote that are currently sitting dormant, and you have an opportunity for the wily minnow to make some hay.
That's the way I am choosing to look at the next few days. So I am voting, when others are not. I am posting, when others refuse to. I am going to go about my STEEM life and take m $0.80 cent posts to the bank. Because I think somewhere along the line, that $0.80 is going to be worth more than it says it is.
I could be entirely wrong, and I welcome those who know more than I do to feel free to correct me in the comments. But to my way of thinking, this may be the very best time to be active on STEEM that we have experienced since the Korean Pumps of November.
Will be interesting to see how this pans out. It has to go somewhere I agree.
Now my question is do we vote or not? should we be sane or crazy like the fox?
