Im new to Steemit and I have some questions about the Steem Power thingy. So if I power down, does it convert the power into Steem? Does it convert it right away or I need to wait for a bit?

Steem and steem power are the same, except that sp takes 13 weeks to unvest.
You actually hold vests, but the interface shows it's value in steem as sp.
