I'm writing mostly in niches (needlework and tabletop-rpg) and there the curating is mostly only done by those interested in it. And especially in needlework, a lot of authors don't engage in other topics, their accounts don't grow and so the rewards are low. Which doesn't really motivate to write good posts and to translate them into English. It's a vicious circle and I don't see a way to change it.

Maybe "mass adoption" will bring lots of needleworkers to STEEM. :)

I don't know if the implementation of communities may help a little bit ...? (But yes, it will stay a niche probably.)
