Upbit is back with two new Steem wallets for deposits and withdrawals: @upbitsteemhot and @upbituserwallet. Both deposits and withdrawals have been re-enabled since yesterday.
The charts below show how much STEEM is stored on each exchange where STEEM is listed.
Rule #1 in the crypto world: Don't store your cryptocurrencies on an exchange!
STEEM stored on all exchanges

STEEM stored on Bittrex

STEEM stored on Poloniex

STEEM stored on Binance

STEEM stored on Huobi

STEEM stored on Upbit

STEEM stored on Bithumb

STEEM stored on Openledger

STEEM stored on Gopax

How much STEEM is currently stored on each exchange?

Exchange | STEEM |
---|---|
Bittrex | 24,424,343 STEEM |
Poloniex | 10,447,893 STEEM |
Binance | 9,088,563 STEEM |
Huobi | 3,656,452 STEEM |
Upbit | 521,689 STEEM |
Bithumb | 0 STEEM |
Openledger | 584,107 STEEM |
Gopax | 385,603 STEEM |
Total amount of STEEM stored on all exchanges: 49,006,896 STEEM
Total STEEM supply: 272,371,180 STEEM
Liquid STEEM: 79,404,816 STEEM
- 18.0% of the total supply is stored on the exchanges.
- 61.7% of all liquid STEEM is stored on the exchanges.
That is a surprise to me. I wonder is that supply total including sp? Thanks.
that's a significant amount, given that many steem is also stored as steem power
Looks like more and more Steem are being put on exchanges. Interesting.
Poloniex finally opened there and BAM look at what happened lol
the only one trouble is there - it requires you passed througt the KYC validation to withdraw your funds:(((
Thanks for the great info. Upvote and resteem.
If all this steem was powered up, i wonder what would happen :)
interesting information, thank you for sharing with us.
thank you for commenting. interesting comment!
Interesting, thanks!
That's a lot of SP that's not powered up and being used for voting as it was intended. I didn't realise so much was out there. They should delegate some to me so I can help deal with the spam and abuse :)
It's a very interesting observation how much of the total supply of a token is being held liquid to be able to trade and provide liquidity to the market. I guess 20% of the total supply would still be ok, just in order to have a stable price.

We probably need some trading, but all that Steem could do a lot of good in voting
That poloniex graph made me laugh hysterically.
Great info penguin-p! Going to resteem this for #steemsilvergold
😎👍
Rising Up :)
is this a good thing?
Yep It is :)
How about you ? Think ....
That's a lot of Steem that's being stored where it is easier to take... and where it can't earn rewards through powering up.
Bittrex is always ahead.
And ewwwww 😶 I'm seeing 0steem somewhere.
Hi @penguinpablo, is steemblockexplorer.com down ? It looks like it's down ... Is it going to come back up soon or do you plan to stop operating it ?
Thanks and regards
Sorin
It is working properly here. Have not noticed any issues today. Do you get an error message?
It stays on "Loading" ... never comes up with anything. Note all prices are at $0.000
Am I pointing to a dead RPC node maybe ? But I don't see where one can change that ...
I think it is an issue with connecting to the default rpc node. You can select another node on this page: https://steemblockexplorer.com/settings.html
Thanks.
I was on steemd.pevo.science. It looks like both pevo.science and privex.io are down ... minnowsupportporject.org works.
Would you potentially look into a job offer, if that came along?
Unrelated questions: do you also run a witness (possibly from another account) I could vote for?
And also: are you based physically in Europe by any chance ?
Thanks
I am not a Steem witness, but thank you for asking.
And yes, I moved from Antarctica (where all penguins live) to Europe. I hated the cold on the Arctic ;-)
Are you perfectly happy with what you are doing or you might potentially consider a job offer, if one came along ?
Thank you, but I'm not interested.
thanks for your answer. I kind of expected it ... :-)
It is great sir
Are the exchanges voting on stuff? I guess the steem probably isn't vested because they might need to send it for withdrawal
There is an analysis that might prove to be of interest if you have the time. That would be to compare total steem on the exchanges vs the price of steem. Is there a correlation?
Does anyone know who moved all of those millions of Steem off from Poloniex? It had to go somewhere... so I'm curious where it went!
Thanks for sharing! A link to your post was included in the Steem.center wiki page Steem Exchanges:Links. Thanks and good luck again!
steem price pridection end off year?
