IBM introduces their blockchain solution - called Fabric

in #steem9 years ago

We've all heard of fabric, and right so. Awesome tech, isn't it?

Seems like IBM came up with something similar...

Hyperledger Fabric provides a foundation for developing blockchain  solutions with a modular architecture, pluggable implementations, and  container technology. While leveraging open source best practices,  Hyperledger Fabric enables confidentiality, scalability, and security in  business environments.

Let the patent wars begin :D

Sort:

rofl, what's with IBM and stealing names.. first their "Open Ledger" project and now "Fabric" :D

They know where to keep their eyes on, that's for sure

Watson keeps watch :)

As a recent explorer, I can tell you that they have already realized that the membership movement is getting bigger

They were using fabric before we used it here. It's primary focus is permissioned blockchain apps

Well, several months ago I attended an IBM blockchain workshop. It was impressive.

You login into their cloud, set up a virtual machine with blockchain included, create a ledger, write some contracts and off you go. All within your browser. Easy.

Of course, it gets interesting when you want to use the thing for real. Licensing, fees, ... who knows what.

And yes, it is for serial and private business only.

Keeps watch.
Resteem.!!

epic fail for IBM? :d

LOL - They managed to get 15 likes in 8 months.

I posted to this video by IBM

Wow. Sounds a lot like Ethereum, but you alone are allowed to squeak into the middle to make a profit. Oh, and Go go gadget "we invented Linux" too.

For those reading this 'The Blockchain' in reality is like 'The Earth' - it's one of the many planets. One with all the developed creatures, life, oil, factories etc. called The Earth. Like the Earth there is a highly populated "Bitcoin Blockchain" which is what everyone is trying to get into, though it's full.

Your IBM Blockchain - Fabric - (whatever) is like Venus - empty with no life. Nothing there and nobody interested in the expense to put themselves there.

There are a few other blockchains that are starting (Ethereum, Dash, etc) which are becoming populated. But to say, "The Blockchain" is like saying "The Planet" Which One? Can you breath there?

sehr interessant

Ibm Give no bucks does it.
Curious to see how this end up.
