I think steemit inc needs to hire you to start writing for them. The picture you paint here is one that excites me even more for the future of steemit. The idea that @pifc could get a delegation of RC and then use that pool to power new steemians which we manually select is exciting.
If it's exciting for a small group like ours it's a game changer for a dApp which previously really was Dead before even launching...sorry but you will never onboard 100k users for an app that requires you to jump through hoops to get an account and makes you wait days...or weeks to get that account. To be able to sign someone up and have them playing a game or listening to music or whatever in a matter of minutes will be huge.
I can talk about possibility only as I am lacking the technical pedigree :)
It means that there is much less chance of bad actors through this community process and those that slip through can be identified and de-delegated.
This is at the core of the process and also helps with removing some of the expectation of earning and rather brings more people in as a user first.
Yes, but if given the information you would be able to paint the picture for the rest of the non techy people to understand. Never Ever when trying to appeal to the masses should your posts be written by anyone with a strong technical background on the subject unless it's an industry paper written to other experts. Technical experts do not have the ability to explain something as way to much assumed knowledge is present in their posts. The knowledge gap between the experts and the end user on steemit is massive.
This to me is maybe more appealing then anything. Gets old when someone finds a way to create hundreds of accounts and then use them to create vote farms or that clown with the flag ring a few months back.
The unrealistic expectation of earning without doing much is the core of why we have massive turnover. To remove the expectation of earning and change the value proposition to "we have the best network around...oh and btw you might earn a little bit of crypto that one day might be worth some real money" would be a game changer in terms of attracting people for the right reasons vs attracting those who come for greed and expectation of a free lunch.
Maybe because I have spent the last 15 years training 80% engineers from tech and manufacturing I am okay at 'translating'.
Yep, RCs have no voting power to abuse, it is just bandwidth. Bringing them in as users first will actually limit attempted abuse also I think.
