A few months ago CoinMarketCap implemented FCAS - a cryptocurrency rating system designed by Flipsidecrypto in order to monitor and rate cryptocurrencies health based on three core pillars - customer activity, developer behavior and market maturity.

What exactly does this mean?
Oddly enough back then, STEEM was unjustly graded rather poorly with a C which, needless to say, was quite disappointing considering the amount of development that's going on here and the sheer amount of user activity which, compared to other blockchains out there, is impressive.
Looking at exactly what this meant left many of us feeling that this was greatly misrepresenting the true value of STEEM, rightfully so if I may add.
Meaning that they most likely didn't do a good enough job extrapolating all of the data produced by the many dapps built on top of Steem.
In an interview, @elipowell mentioned that she is in the talks with the people behind FCAS and that she will do whatever is in her power to provide necessary data which will paint a true picture of the real value of our chain of blocks.
Two days ago Stinc announced that this undertaking was successful and that STEEM's FCAS score was upgraded to A. With a score of 829 this puts STEEM in the 12th spot across all of the cryptocurrencies in existence.

Now that's a little closer to the reality of what is going on here.
After being vilified by many, so-called crypto experts for years now, it's great to see that STEEM is finally getting some of that well-deserved recognition, showing the world the value and potential of what we are building here.
This isn't the first time STEEM got some recognition from the outside world though. A little over one month ago China announced their crypto ratings, rating STEEM as the 4th best blockchain.
Now if we can spread the word across the globe and tell the world about it, maybe we can finally attract more investors here.
After all, without investors, the Steem spaceship is fuelless and therefore it can't reach the target destination leaving us wondering - when Moon?
It’s an exciting validation. If anything, it just makes it more fruitful to tell people about Steem and add that little sentence to the end —“we’re the 12th rated blockchain based on technology/community”.
I think the market cap of Steem will come to reflect this as the word spreads about the developments here like Steem Engine, Splinterlands, 3speak, etc.
It truly is! In the months filled with pessimism caused by the downtrend in price, this is a piece of information which should bring a smile to many grumpy faces.
While that might not be the case currently, in the years to come I expect the price to fully reflect the developments and accomplishments made by our global community.
It seems like a matter of time before the market picks up on this and we'll see a healthy price rally.

I sure hope so because with the current price tag, STEEM is misrepresented by its price, although this gives a mighty opportunity for those in the know to get in on a sweet deal.
If that could only impact steem price in a positive way.... ;)
