To be honest, I do not understand why. The real human interaction on the Steem blockchain is so rare that the Steem blockchain looks like a ghost town. Nowadays the average number of comments per post is only 2-3.
I think some people want to fill their bags with the new Hive token. So they buy some steem before the snapshot is taken. I'd expect a massive dump soon enouh ;)
That could be a possible reason. If that is the case, then probably you are right about the massive dump. We will see.

Justin Sun might have been buying loads of Steem. Let's see if he tries to infiltrate our Hive too next.
Anyhow, Steem has gone down a lot today, especially after the fork to Hive.

this was due to news about Hive giving 1 to 1 Steem to Hive and Hive Power when the community fork goes through.
